About NCTHA
MISSION STATEMENT
The National Competitive Trail Horse Association (“NCTHA”), as an organization, educates, keeps records on and promotes the sport of competitive trail riding (CTR). Our goal is to unite all like-minded groups to insure the voice of CTR riders will remain strong in horse product marketing and trail preservation.

                         ABOUT US
The founders of the Supreme Trail Challenge and Texas Trail Challenge merged in 2008 to form the National Competitive Trail Horse Association to be the sanctioning and record keeping organization for STC and TTC rides. As most NCTHA members also compete in endurance and other competitive trail venues, NCTHA's scope was expanded to keep the placing and mileage records for members' competition in those venues. Other organizations recognized to date are the AERC and NATRC.

NCTHA understands that no one kind of trail event is going to work for all its members. By having a "fruit basket" of venues available for accumulating performance points and mileage, members will find at least one or two kinds of events that work for them, whether it be two-day rides in CTR such as NATRC offers, trail trials in TTC, AERC endurance rides or one-day CTR rides in STC. Some will like all and want to compete across the board; others may only be able to compete in one or two. Our members are recognized and rewarded for accomplishments in whatever venues they ride.

We encourage mutual support among the various trail organizations by rewarding the NCTHA member horse and rider teams competing in three or more venues. Our founders feel this encourages riders to try different kinds of events and hope to dispel some of the myths surrounding the more established organizations.

NCTHA offers inexpensive dual sanctioning for established competitive trail ride organizations' rides and assists new types of competitive trail ride venues in getting started.
